Isaiah 9:6

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

So… Why is Jesus both non-political and political at the same time? It doesn’t make sense, unless you understand the political climate He was in!

Okay #1. Jesus is not about worldly politics, or even talking/proclaiming worldly politics. He was proclaiming, not-of-this-world, Kingdom understanding, and Kingdom power. But, those that were observing Him, were so deep into their own Worldly Power, Clout, Prestige, and Reputations. They just could not stand it! In College level, Political Science, we learned that the term Politics is referring to where the Power resides.

Okay #2. Jesus did something that challenged the worldly and political elite on an unbelievable scale! He actually displayed real Power, He showed the political class something that they themselves could not do! He healed the sick, fed multitudes, walked on water, and much more! And what did they do about it? Just read it for yourself. (Matthew 25: 1-3)

Your critical think?

Do you see, that real Power was being displayed before many people, as to provoke such a bad reaction from those that were clinging to political power? I believe they felt that their own superficial power was being majorly threatened! and nothing Jesus did, could they do. Oh… they wanted to alright, but for all the wrong reasons. Just like, Simon the Sorcerer.

Now, you can see why today, followers of Christ Jesus are still teaching Kingdom, are persecuted and accused of being political by those that are in power. They feel threatened! By the Truth that is Real!
